Many Christians are disappointed with God, when they say they love God, but don't experience the promises of Romans 8:28. There is a problem with our thinking, and interpretation.
Because there is a very big difference between believing the promises of God and praying for things you wish to be true.
God is always good, and His goodness doesn't always mean happiness on our part. Many of His promises require pruning and discipline, and those are not always happy experiences. But they are good. No actually, they are the best.
The blessing is Christ. Thus, He wants you to fully experience becoming more like Him.
This is what Paul meant in Romans 8:28. It should be understood in context not in the way we want to understand it, read the next verses (v.29-).
